Best crypto presales: Bitcoin Penguins presale tops $4M as Asia’s rich families boost crypto exposure

2 Mins read

As crypto markets advance, Asia’s wealthiest investors are intensifying their involvement in the cryptocurrency market, with family offices and high-net-worth individuals increasing their allocations to digital assets.

At the same time, new projects such as Bitcoin Penguins (BPENGU) are emerging to capture attention, blending Bitcoin’s reputation with the viral momentum of meme coins.

The token has now raised over $4 million in its presale, which is set to conclude on August 27.

Wealthy investors diversify portfolios with digital assets

Wealthy Asian families and family offices are stepping up their investments in digital assets, driven by strong market performance, increased mainstream adoption, and favourable regulatory developments in key jurisdictions.

Wealth managers across the region report a rise in enquiries from high-net-worth individuals, while cryptocurrency exchanges note surging trading volumes, and crypto funds are attracting strong demand.

Jason Huang, founder of NextGen Digital Venture, told Reuters that his firm raised over $100 million in a few months for its latest vehicle, the Next Generation Fund II, launched in Singapore in late May.

The long–short crypto equity fund follows his first fund, which returned 375% in less than two years before being wound down.

“Our investors – mainly family offices and internet/fintech entrepreneurs – recognise the growing role of digital assets in diversified portfolios,” Mr Huang said.

Swiss bank UBS observed that some overseas Chinese family offices are aiming to raise their cryptocurrency exposure to around 5% of portfolios.

“Many second- and third-generation individuals of family offices are starting to learn about and participate in virtual currencies,” said Lu Zijie, head of wealth management at UBS China.

Favourable policy developments have helped spur the trend.

In the United States, the Trump administration’s recently approved GENIUS Act has supported digital asset adoption, while Hong Kong’s new stablecoin legislation has provided regulatory clarity. Bitcoin itself has reached record highs this month, surpassing $124,000.

Wealth managers say the mindset of Asian clients has shifted from testing small allocations a few years ago to now treating digital assets as a core portfolio holding.

Some sophisticated family offices have begun employing market-neutral strategies such as basis trades and arbitrage, according to Lighthouse Canton, a Singapore-based manager.

At the same time, exchanges are seeing a marked increase in activity.

Hong Kong’s HashKey Exchange reported an 85% year-on-year increase in registered users by August 2025, while South Korea’s three largest exchanges recorded a 17% rise in total trading volumes compared with the same period last year.

Bitcoin Penguins enters meme coin arena

Against this buoyant backdrop, new tokens are seeking to capitalise on the momentum.

One such project is Bitcoin Penguins (BPENGU), which positions itself as a hybrid of Bitcoin’s reputation as “digital gold” and the viral appeal of penguin-themed meme coins.

By combining Bitcoin’s scarcity-driven narrative with the community appeal of meme tokens, its backers see it as a natural evolution of the penguin token trend.

The project’s tokenomics include a capped supply of 10 billion tokens, with 55% allocated to presale buyers, ensuring scarcity for the token.

It has raised $4.12 million from its presale so far. The price is scheduled to increase every two days until the presale closes on August 27.

Following the presale, BPENGU is set to list on decentralised exchanges on September 2.

Proponents say the project’s timing is favourable, coinciding with strong Bitcoin momentum, improving sentiment in altcoins, and sustained enthusiasm for penguin-themed tokens.

While Asia’s wealthy families are building longer-term positions in digital assets, projects such as Bitcoin Penguins highlight the continuing appeal of high-risk, high-reward opportunities in a maturing yet fast-moving market.
